It's Just My Face - Teaser

Adrienne and Leorah kick off It’s Just My Face — the afterparty where event pros get real about the work, the wins, and the WTF moments of the event and hospitality world. Mixing rants, strategies, and survival stories, they're here to help you grow your business, lead your team, and keep your sanity intact.
Adrienne: Welcome to, it's Just My Face with Adrienne and Leorah
Leorah: It's Just My Face is the after party where event pros get real about the work, the wins, and the what the fuck moments
Adrienne: We're gonna be mixing stories, strategies, and yes, some rants, but we're here to help you grow your business, lead your team. And keep your sanity in this chaotic world we call the event industry. Some of you, most of you might know us. Maybe we've done a few events together,
Leorah: or gotten some drinks together.
Adrienne: Maybe more than a couple of drinks? Probably, and maybe I've made you cry.
Leorah: I thought I was the one with the reputation making people cry.
Adrienne: Probably.
Leorah: Probably.
Leorah: I am Leorah. I started out in restaurants, worked my way into event management and sales, and somehow always managed to work for the boujee'st of places. Maybe it's because I got my MBA in hospitality from NYU, I don't know. But I did spend, the latter part of my professional career working in very corporate hotel environments.
Adrienne: I am Adrienne, and if you consider my basement to be boujee, then yes, I too am from the corporate environment. Um, but no, I'm just kidding. But I do have 20 years of event experience. I know, right? Um, not to age myself, but you do know there's gonna be. 25 year olds listening to this, right?
Leorah: Yeah. Buckle up bitches.
Adrienne: It's gonna be awesome. Anyways, I've done sales, I've managed venues, I've owned a business, I've closed a business. I've seen a lot of chaos. I have cried more than my fair share, and now I'm here to talk about it.
Leorah: Of course you are. But why are we having a podcast? We are really good at hanging out and talking shit.
Adrienne: we have like a PhD in talking shit.
Leorah: Truth, truth. But we know that you are good at it too. And we also know that you have had the same pain, you've had the same worries, so many of the same stresses, and of course so much fun. So why not share it all here together?
Adrienne: Yes, girl. And we've made this for you. If you've been someone who's cried in a walk-in cooler or like myself mainly on the drive home from an event, uh, or you've been so frustrated or stressed by a customer or a client that you're like, Hey, maybe I'll just elope with their money
Leorah: or their fiancé.
Adrienne: Yeah, that, that, that could work too. Just so you know, this podcast is for you. You are not alone. We promise this to be a space to be as real as our faces are. We're not here for promotion. We're here for connection. This industry affords us such a luxury to have these amazing laugh sessions. Yes, where our sides ache. And we cannot wait to share those with you guys.
Leorah: Yes. Yes. We are bringing you the unfiltered side of the event and hospitality world. It's the stuff that we all already know, but no one is talking about it, not out loud and not in the public sphere. It's all the wins, all the fails, and all those awkward moments. Sometimes it will just be us, me, and Adrienne, and sometimes we'll be sitting down with our amazing friends, some badass women. And yeah, a few brave men too, all of whom are making big moves in the industry. Hopefully you'll learn some things along the way.
Adrienne: I gotta say, I feel like these, uh, men are gonna have to be super, super brave,
Leorah: You think?
Adrienne: Yeah, totally. Uh, we've got a lot of questions on what's with the title. Mm-hmm. Um, so let's talk about it. Uh, Leorah. Have you ever been in a grocery store and a stranger for some reason, tells you to smile?
Leorah: Unfortunately, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you ever been told, I know what you're thinking before you've even said a goddamn word.
Adrienne: Yes. Have you ever been asked what is wrong when literally nothing is fucking wrong? You're just sitting in a meeting, maybe listening to somebody yammer on. And you're just daring to like exist. Like be there.
Leorah: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Has your passion ever been mistaken for anger or dare I say a bad attitude?
Adrienne: Yes. And if so, this is our homage to you. This is our symphony. We love you. We are you, and we see you. Welcome to, it's just my face.
Leorah: And so please do all the things you know, you're supposed to subscribe, like, follow and tell your friends, but uh, just the cool ones, okay?
Adrienne: For sure. So come for the chaos. Stay for the solidarity. Welcome to, it's just my face, and we'll see you guys soon.
Both: Bye bye.
